Simple Flying is the leading independent voice for aviation news and insight, offering a digital-first, free-to-read platform. We are seeking Editors who stay on top of aviation news and drive engaging, informative coverage across commercial aviation, airlines and airports, manufacturing, and industry trends.

Responsibilities include ideating topics, managing writers, editing pieces, monitoring performance, and contributing content to maintain cadence.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as an aviation writer, with a portfolio of published work.
• Strong research abilities with a talent for crafting insightful, original content.
• A deep understanding of commercial aviation trends.
• Experience with SEO and a track record of content that ranks and performs.
• A results-driven mindset and genuine interest in article metrics and audience engagement.
• Experience with a custom CMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ideate news topics in alignment with Simple Flying's brand identity, editorial guidelines, and content strategy.
• Assign topics to writers, establish clear deadlines, edit articles and ensure accountability to support timely publication.
• Monitor article performance and strategically republish content to maintain or improve traffic performance.
• Contribute written content as needed to maintain publishing cadence and address coverage gaps.
