Qualifications

• 3+ years diversified machine shop experience or equivalent training
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
• Strong understanding of machining processes and best practices
• Ability to calculate dimensional information accurately
• Experience operating precision measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
• Ability to use simple and compound sine tools
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

• Adhere to general work requirements, safety procedures, and quality standards
• Verify material types, quantities, and prior inspection approvals before starting work
• Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop documentation
• Assist with machining procedure planning and machine setup activities
• Set up and verify cutting tools according to machine requirements
• Perform machining operations: boring, drilling, milling, tapping, threading
• Machine raw materials into finished parts with precise tolerances
• Monitor spindle speeds, tool wear, and feed rates during machining
• Make equipment, tooling, and process adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
• Use hand tools to finish machined components
• Inspect completed parts for compliance with specifications
• Maintain machine documentation and shop records
