Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Discipline Lead, Aviation at our Hunt Valley, MD office. You will drive design management for airport infrastructure, including runways and terminals, and lead multidisciplinary teams through the full project lifecycle.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, coordination with clients and regulators, and oversight of construction support activities, from planning to completion. Must be a US citizen with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and 8 years of civil experience or equivalent.
• US Citizenship required due to project requirements.
• Valid US Driver’s License to visit sites and offices; background checks will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design for airport development projects (runways, taxiways, terminals).
• Provide technical leadership within the aviation civil engineering group.
• Oversee design activities: airfield layout, grading, drainage, pavement, stormwater.
• Prepare and review construction docs, specs, schedules, cost estimates.
• Coordinate utility design, environmental permitting, and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor engineers, designers and CAD staff; resolve complex technical challenges.
