Job summary

AECOM in Honolulu, Hawaii is seeking a Civil Engineer with 6+ years of aviation experience to join our Aviation team on a hybrid schedule. The successful candidate will support airside and landside design projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

The role includes runway/taxiway design, grading, drainage, and construction administration, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and contribute to project management and client coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, preferably with aviation or transportation infrastructure.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support design tasks related to airfield infrastructure: runways, taxiways, aprons, pavement, grading, and stormwater systems.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage construction phases including site visits and RFIs.
• Interface with clients, stakeholders, and permitting agencies to support project delivery.
• Contribute to project management activities: scope, schedule, and budget tracking.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
