Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Des Moines, Iowa team, focusing on site, roadway, municipal or airports projects. The role supports civil airfield design, drainage, utility relocation, and pavement rehabilitation with a strong emphasis on coordinating with multidiscipline teams.

You will contribute from planning through construction administration, supervise multiple projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and agencies nationwide.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency
• Candidates must be a US Citizen
• EI or PE, preferably State of Iowa

Responsibilities

• Developing civil airfield design, municipal projects, site design and construction improvement documents
• Coordinating with planning and design team members, contractors, and sub-consultants for ongoing planning, design, and construction projects
• Performing civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for General Aviation and Commercial Air Service Airports
• Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of engineering and municipal projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, drainage improvements, utility relocation and protection, and pavement rehabilitation
• Will be involved with projects from start to completion including planning, design, and construction administration, including grading, drainage, pavement design, specifications, and construction safety plans
• Collaborating and/or coordinating delivery teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
• AutoCAD or MicroStation 3D modeling mentoring
• Supervise, coordinated, and production of several projects concurrently.
• Coordinate with clients, funding agencies, state aviation officials, FAA, and local permit Agencies
• Includes regular site visits during the design and construction phases of improvement projects throughout the United States
