Overview

This position is primarily responsible for performing engineering functions specific to aviation/airfield design under the direction of a Project Manager.

Responsibilities

1. Perform engineering computations, evaluations, design analyses, and development.
2. Prepare reports, recommendations, and opinions for approval by a Professional Engineer.
3. Apply standard engineering practices and techniques to data; recognize and resolve discrepancies.
4. Work as part of a project team in data and application development.
5. Act as a technical advisor to staff.
6. Use AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD for developing engineering and design documents.
7. Participate in quality initiatives and potentially serve as a field engineer during construction.
8. Coordinate tasks with Engineers I and II, assist in project scheduling and budgeting, and prepare project specifications.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Civil Engineering with 8+ years related experience in airfield engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• Ability to perform essential duties physically and mentally.
• Proficiency in reading technical documents and applying mathematical concepts.
• Effective communication skills and familiarity with discipline-related software, especially AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of FAA Design Advisory Circulars.
• Physical ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
