Job summary

The Planet Group seeks an Aviation Design Lead/Civil Design Lead to supervise the Civil Design Division in delivering airport and transportation projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage resources, and maintain client relationships, especially with MWAA, while guiding design, permitting, and project delivery across a growing practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience and leadership of a civil design team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Aviation/Civil Design Division and develop growth plans.
• Manage division revenue, profit, utilization, and project performance.
• Lead business development, proposals, and client relationship management (MWAA exposure is a plus).
• Oversee site civil and transportation infrastructure design from planning through design and construction.
• Mentor engineers and project managers; ensure quality assurance and coordination across disciplines.
• Guide permitting strategies and coordinate with agencies and stakeholders to secure approvals.
