Job summary

SkyChefs seeks a Transportation Manager to lead all transport and fleet operations at the Pittsburgh facility, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient movement of freight while exceeding service expectations.

The role requires hands-on leadership of transportation supervisors, dispatch teams, drivers, and support staff, with emphasis on route execution, on-time delivery, and cost control. Work location is near Minneapolis International Airport and is onsite, with a second shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent leadership experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of leadership in high-volume operations.
• Experience leading multiple departments through frontline supervisors.
• Proven ability to coach and develop leaders; strong labor management and scheduling knowledge.
• Experience with safety, quality, and cost metrics; data-driven decision making.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency with MS Office and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage catering deliveries to aircraft by coordinating equipment to ensure timely meal deliveries.
• Drive on-time performance and schedule compliance within turnaround times.
• Coordinate with airline and airport operations teams to support flight departures.
• Handle last-minute changes such as delays, reassignments, and special requests.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across drivers, vehicles, and operations.
• Oversee fleet and equipment, monitor condition, coordinate maintenance.
• Track and analyze metrics like on-time delivery, service quality, and labor productivity.
• Identify process gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
