Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a Cargo Handling Supervisor to lead warehouse operations at our airport facilities. You will direct non-exempt staff, coordinate vehicle and equipment use, and ensure compliance with airline guidelines, FAA, and DOT regulations.

The role requires safety focus and the ability to train staff in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should be able to lift up to 70 pounds, pass drug and background checks, and work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug test and a ten-year background check as required by US Customs.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving records.
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate activities of departmental non-exempt employees (Cargo Office and Warehouse Agents) and warehouse leads.
• Supervise staff driving and operating small specialized commercial vehicles, X-ray units, and handheld scanners.
• Ensure proper staffing is scheduled for warehouse operations.
• Participate in interviewing, conduct performance evaluations, issue disciplinary actions, and coordinate with General Manager on decisions.
• Train new employees in the warehouse and ensure documentation meets airline, FAA, DOT, and other regulatory guidelines.
• Oversee build-up, break-down, storing, and delivery of freight; accept or assign certified staff for dangerous goods.
