Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a Cargo Handling Supervisor to direct warehouse and cargo office staff, and to supervise drivers, X-ray units, and scanners. This outdoor role involves heavy lifting and weather exposure, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will be responsible for staffing, training, performance evaluations, and ensuring documentation meets FAA/DOT guidelines. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• One year college certificate or technical school, six months related experience or equivalent combination.
• Must pass all pre-employment checks including drug test and ten-year background check as required by US Customs.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 70 pounds.
• Aviation industry experience is a plus.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
• Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate activities of departmental non-exempt employees (Cargo Office and Warehouse Agents) and warehouse leads.
• Supervise staff operating small specialized commercial vehicles, X-ray units, and handheld scanners.
• Ensure proper staffing for warehouse operations and train new employees.
• Maintain documentation to comply with airline guidelines, FAA, DOT and other regulatory agencies.
• Review operational reports to control costs and prevent delays.
• Inspect equipment and perform safety audits to ensure safety and compliance.
• Address employee concerns and coordinate with management for actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
