Job summary

Cignus Consulting is seeking a Business Analyst to join the strategic analysis and forecasting team for a major airport operator in the New York area. You will be the day-to-day contact for 100+ airlines submitting data via a cloud-based portal, with an engagement expected to run ~4 years.

The role centers on data validation, reporting, airline onboarding, and training, leveraging Power BI/Tableau, Excel, and SQL to drive timely insights and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or customer-facing technical support.
• Working knowledge of Power BI or Tableau.
• Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and pivot tables.
• Basic SQL or relational database experience.
• Clear, professional written communication and comfort working with external partners.
• Organized and dependable with recurring monthly deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in business, aviation, data analytics, economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the shared inbox daily and resolve airline questions about report submission, error messages, profile configuration, and carrier onboarding.
• Provide daily issue updates and proposed fixes to the portal manager.
• Lead a weekly team meeting on open issues and action plans.
• Write and maintain SOPs and desk instructions for recurring questions.
• Airline onboarding and training (about 25%). Participate in new carrier onboarding and configure related portal updates.
• Schedule and lead quarterly live training sessions for airline representatives.
• Serve as the go-to resource for airline reps on data entry questions specific to the client's airports.
• Data validation and reporting (about 25%). Use Power BI validation reports to check monthly submissions for completeness and consistency against prior data, flight schedules, and airside operations data.
• Follow up with airlines that miss submission deadlines.
• Maintain the data issues log in Microsoft Lists and drive critical issues to resolution each month.
• Compile and distribute final activity data for internal and external reporting.

Cignus Consulting is an SBA 8(a)-certified aviation technology and engineering firm supporting FAA, NASA, DoD, and major airport operators. We are hiring a Business Analyst to join the strategic analysis and forecasting team of a major airport operator in the New York area. You will be the day-to-day point of contact for more than 100 airlines that submit monthly passenger, operations, cargo, and billing data through a cloud-based airline data portal. This is a great role for an early-career analyst who wants direct exposure to how a large airport system runs on data. The engagement is expected to run approximately four years.

What you\'ll do

Work arrangement

Hybrid, onsite in New York City a minimum of 4 days per week with 1 remote day. Core hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday.
