Talbert, Bright & Ellington is seeking highly motivated Civil Engineering Interns with a passion for aviation and infrastructure development. You will gain hands-on experience in airport planning, design, and construction, supporting engineers on technical design work, field observations, and project reporting in Wilmington, NC.

Interns will assist with airfield plan preparation, use AutoCAD and Civil 3D, perform basic calculations, and prepare reports while learning FAA standards and airport

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work in-person at the Wilmington, NC office.

Responsabilités

• Assist engineers with the design and preparation of airfield plans, drawings, and technical documents.
• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design tools to support project development.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for pavement geometry, grading, and stormwater flow.
• Shadow airfield inspections, construction observation, and data collection under supervision.
• Help prepare engineering reports, design narratives, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs.
• Research FAA design standards, regulations, and airport planning requirements.
• Organize project documents, prepare exhibits, and contribute to presentations.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and project managers to meet deadlines.
