Job summary

Silver Mountain is seeking a Snow Safety Technician for the Ski Patrol to support risk management, emergency response, and guest services on the mountain. You will write a daily avalanche forecast, record weather and snow observations, and help implement mitigation strategies with the team.

Responsibilities include training patrollers in companion avalanche rescue, assisting with avalanche dog exercises, and responding to emergencies such as search and rescue, evacuations, and hazard mitigation;

Qualifications

• EMT/AEMT/Paramedic or OEC certification required.
• CPR/AED certification.
• Professional Level 1 Avalanche certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe ski area and facilities, mitigating hazards.
• Maintain signage and hazard markings for guest navigation.
• Provide medical care to injured guests and document care.
• Respond to emergencies including search and rescue and evacuations.
• Assess and mitigate avalanche hazard and write daily avalanche forecast.
• Record snow and weather data and develop mitigation strategies.
• Train patrollers in companion rescue and work with avalanche dogs.
