Job summary

Mammoth Mountain is seeking a Patrol Manager to lead avalanche forecasting and risk management across the ski area. The role combines field leadership with administrative oversight and requires strong interpersonal skills and expert skiing in avalanche terrain.

Reporting to the Assistant Director Snow Safety, you will coordinate staffing, training, and emergency response readiness, and mentor frontline Patrol staff. A minimum of five winter seasons as an avalanche professional is expected.

Qualifications

• EMT/EMR/WFR or equivalent to 80-hour minimum first aid certification.
• Current CPR training and certification.
• Master Patroller MMSP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze weather and snowpack data to support avalanche forecast products.
• Lead avalanche risk management decisions across the mountain operations.
• Provide avalanche safety training and mentor Patrol staff.
• Coordinate staffing, training, and emergency response readiness with Snow Safety leadership.
