Job summary

Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock, NC is seeking a technically skilled AV & Technology Operations Specialist to maintain and improve our resort’s audio-visual infrastructure and event support services. This hands-on role collaborates with Event Coordinators, departments, vendors, and IT to ensure AV services are planned, configured, delivered, and supported.

You will manage on-site AV setups for events, troubleshoot issues, train staff, track equipment and revenue, and stay current with AV tech

Qualifications

• Experience with professional, conference, or enterprise AV equipment preferred.
• Working knowledge of microphones, amplifiers, mixers, projectors, displays, and video systems.
• Strong customer service and professionalism with clients, guests, vendors, and internal departments.
• Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple events, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
• Willingness to learn new AV and IT technologies.
• Knowledge of computer systems, networks, IT security, and general technology systems.
• Ability to work independently and with other departments.
• Remain calm and solution-oriented in high-pressure event environments.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and after-hours support.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate AV requirements with Event Coordinators and clients before events.
• Provide on-site AV support for events to ensure client and guest satisfaction.
• Prepare, configure, test, operate, and maintain AV equipment.
• Troubleshoot AV equipment before and during events.
• Research and recommend new AV technologies, equipment, and solutions.
• Coordinate AV infrastructure projects with internal teams, contractors, and third-party vendors.
• Provide AV equipment training and technical support to staff.
• Maintain AV equipment, inventory, and documentation records.
• Track AV-related revenue, expenses, equipment purchases, and improvements.
• Monitor current AV technology trends and recommend upgrades.
• Provide on-call, evening, weekend, and after-hours AV support as needed.
