Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery seeks an AV Technician I to provide daily support for audiovisual systems across conference rooms, classrooms, and event spaces in New York. You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, control systems, and video conferencing tools to ensure seamless presentations.

You will perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with IT and facilities, and train staff on Zoom, Teams, WebEx, and other collaboration platforms.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Media Production, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in AV support, integration, or operations.
  • Strong knowledge of AV control systems (Crestron/Extron/AMX) and video conferencing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support for AV systems in conference rooms, classrooms, and event spaces.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV hardware/software including displays, projectors, microphones, speakers, control systems, and streaming platforms.
  • Support live meetings and events to ensure high-quality user experiences.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, firmware updates, and documentation of equipment.
  • Collaborate with IT, Facilities, and vendors on installations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Train staff on AV system use and remote collaboration tools.
  • Maintain AV inventory and suggest improvements for enterprise-wide tech.

In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role.
