Job summary

American Sound is seeking a skilled Audio-Visual Technician to join our Atlanta team. This permanent role focuses on commercial AV integration, installing and supporting systems for corporate spaces, schools, and arenas.

You will interpret schematics, install and test equipment, and collaborate with project teams to ensure on-time delivery. Requirements include at least 2 years of AV integration experience, familiarity with Crestron/Extron/Biamp/QSYS/Cisco/Poly, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of commercial AV integration installation experience.
• Experience with major AV manufacturers (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSYS, Cisco, Poly).
• Ability to interpret line drawings, schematics and construction documents.
• Familiarity with Cat5e/6, RS232, HDMI, and XLR cabling.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Install AV systems (displays, projectors, audio, control systems) in commercial settings.
• Pull, terminate, and label network, audio, video, and control cables per AV standards.
• Mount and secure speakers, projectors, displays, and equipment racks.
• Work with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure timely installations.
• Interpret AV schematics, line drawings, and construction documents.
• Test and troubleshoot installed AV systems to ensure performance.
• Maintain a clean, safe job site and follow safety procedures.
• Provide on-site client communication and support as needed.
• Document installation progress and report to stakeholders.
• Ensure all work meets industry and company quality standards.

Skills

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Audio-Visual Technician to join our Atlanta team, specializing in commercial integration for corporate meeting rooms, educational facilities, and arenas/stadiums. This is a permanent integration role focused on installing and supporting AV systems in diverse and dynamic environments. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with commercial AV integration and a strong understanding of system schematics and cabling.

Job Responsibilities

• Install AV systems including displays, projectors, audio systems, and control systems in commercial environments
• Pull, terminate, and label network, audio, video, and control cables according to AV standards
• Mount and secure AV hardware such as speakers, projectors, displays, and equipment racks
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure timely and accurate installation
• Interpret and follow AV system schematics, line drawings, and construction documents
• Test and troubleshoot installed AV systems to ensure functionality and performance
• Maintain a clean and organized job site and comply with all safety procedures
• Provide on-site support and communication with clients when needed
• Document installation progress and report to project stakeholders as required
• Ensure all work is completed to industry and company quality standards

Job Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for commuting to job sites
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, and work on ladders or lifts as needed
• Minimum 2 years of commercial AV integration installation experience required
• Experience working with manufacturers such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Qsys, Cisco, and Poly
• Ability to interpret line drawings, schematics, and construction documents
• Knowledge of common AV cable types and signal flow including Cat5e/6, RS232, HDMI, and XLR
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in the field
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team

Job Compensation and Details

• Pay- $25-30/hr with potential bonus at year end
• Shift Time and Days- 8am-4:30pm, M-F with rare off hours
• Travel as needed
