Job summary

CTI in Reston, VA is seeking a Design Engineer to turn clients' big ideas into build-ready AV system designs. You will be the technical backbone from concept through execution, partnering with Sales, PMs, BIM/CAD, and the field to keep projects smart, buildable, and aligned with CTI standards (and yes…with a little fun along the way).

You’ll design complete commercial AV systems, create signal flow diagrams, system drawings, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years designing commercial AV systems and producing build-ready designs.
• Experience creating AV documentation/drawings (signal flow, system drawings).
• Ability to select equipment and design to meet standards and budgets.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
• TS clearance preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Design complete commercial AV systems for conference rooms and enterprise spaces.
• Create AV signal flow diagrams and system drawings (Visio/CAD).
• Review project scope and kickoff info to clarify technical requirements.
• Select AV equipment and define architecture aligned with CTI standards.
• Collaborate with Sales, PMs, BIM/CAD, architects, consultants, IT, and field teams.
• Provide technical direction and QA on drawings for field use.
• Support execution with answers and design updates due to site conditions.
