Job summary

Lyft seeks a Program Manager for AV Safety Policy & Programs to own Lyft's AV Safety Management System across policy, risk, assurance, and promotion pillars. You will author policy, lead risk reviews, translate safety data into decisions, and run the Safety Review Board.

You will collaborate with AV partners and internal teams (EHS, Operations, Engineering, Legal) to ensure readiness for new launches and partner integrations, in a hybrid in-office role in NY.

Qualifications

• 4+ years managing safety programs in safety-critical transport
• Knowledge of Safety Management System (SMS) principles in AV
• Experience with risk assessment, incident follow-up, CAPA tracking
• Strong policy and procedure writing for regulators or partners
• Ability to present safety data and trends to technical and senior audiences
• Ability to lead multi-stakeholder programs without direct authority
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in safety/engineering/policy

Responsibilities

• Own Lyft's AV safety policy framework, procedures, and governance docs with version control and review cycles.
• Manage hazard identification and risk assessment for AV operations and launches; track mitigations to closure.
• Track safety performance indicators and trends; participate in investigations and CAPA tracking.
• Drive safety communications, lessons-learned, and training readiness.
• Run the Safety Review Board cadence: agendas, materials, decisions, and follow-through.
• Collaborate with AV partners on safety assurance and risk-management activities.
• Lead AV safety programs from inception to go-live with cross-functional teams.
