Job description

Rock The House is a nationally recognized Live Event production group working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and immersive entertainment. We create experiences that hit differently, significantly, and dramatically.

Through our full suite of services: Production, Experiential, Rental, Talent, and Installation, we produce corporate conferences for Fortune 500 brands, festivals seen by millions, the nation's most significant gatherings, and exclusive social events. The events we are part of outlast the keynote, the setlist, or the moment itself.

Our niche is where stakes run high and the margin for error sits at zero.

Cleveland-based with a global portfolio. Rooted in Midwest grit. Ready to go wherever our clients take us.

THE ROLE - Be the reason the show starts on time

Before the lights come on, before the keynote begins, before the first song plays, everything starts in the warehouse.

As the Prep Lead, you're responsible for ensuring thousands of pieces of equipment move efficiently through our operation every year. Audio systems, lighting rigs, video walls, staging, interactive attractions, DJ equipment, and everything in between all pass through your hands before heading to events across the country.

This is more than loading trucks. You'll lead teams and oversee the prep of events, while also working within the Warehouse Team, and help maintain a warehouse that runs like a machine. The best people in this role take pride in organization, work with urgency, and understand that every properly packed case and correctly staged order directly impacts the success of an event.

If you enjoy leading teams in hands-on work, solving practical problems, staying active, and being part of a team that creates unforgettable experiences, this role was built for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Manage and uphold company standards for event prep documentation and presentation.
  • Oversee the prep of all events, ensuring every show is prepped to the quality and expectations of RTH.
  • Lead, assign, and schedule prep teams; forecast labor needs and elevate staffing requests.
  • Update and verify team screens/dispatch boards are correct and current for each show.
  • Manage shop/warehouse prep inspection, labeling, packing, staging, and dispatch sign-off.
  • Ensure subcontracted/hired equipment is handled per established processes and integrated accurately into inventory and pull sheets.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor assigned prep technicians.
  • Report daily/weekly KPIs for prep readiness and accuracy.
  • Act as primary dispatch, ensuring the prepped shows get out the door on time.
  • Support daily warehouse operations with team and direct involvement.
  • Assist managers and senior technicians in ensuring gear quality, completeness, and readiness.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and operating efficiently.
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in the Emergency On-Call Technician rotation as needed.
WHAT MAKES SOMEONE GREAT AT THIS
  • Strong understanding of audio, lighting, sfx, video, and staging elements and what it takes to deploy them.
  • Proven leadership skills, assigning work with deadlines, driving teams, and mentoring corrective measures as needed.
  • You take pride in doing things the right way, even when nobody is watching.
  • You understand that details matter because missing one cable can affect an entire event.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud-based inventory management systems and their part in AV Warehouse Operations.
  • Ability to maintain communication with offsite resources while still giving direction to local teams
  • You move with urgency without sacrificing quality.
  • You enjoy learning how professional event equipment works and want to grow your technical skills.
