Job summary

Alpha Video is seeking an AV Field Engineer in Eden Prairie, MN, to configure, test, and commission large audio/video and IT systems. You will work with project managers and engineers to define installation standards and provide hands-on design input.

You’ll deploy DSP and control-system programs, verify networked AV components, and participate in training end users. Occasional travel and field work are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and job-site familiarity.
• Ability to read CAD drawings, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of audio/video theory and IP networking.
• Hands-on experience with audio/video switching, routing, terminations and signal flow.
• Proficient soldering skills and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend project kick-off meetings and provide perspective for commissioning AV systems.
• Identify design and end-user functionality concerns.
• Read and annotate floorplans, elevations, and signal drawings.
• Communicate status, risks, delays, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Create, modify, and test DSP programs (Biamp, QSC, BSS).
• Deploy and test control system programs (Crestron, Extron, Q-Sys).
• Configure and verify operation of AV components and networks.
• Assist with system commissioning reports and testing.
• Serve as quality control for Alpha Video installations and safety.
