Job summary

University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is seeking an AV Installation Specialist to design, install, and support complex audiovisual systems for events and instruction. You will prepare rooms, configure equipment, and ensure functionality and security according to client requests and campus standards.

Leads the preparation of rooms, venues, or events with proper AV equipment to ensure proper functionality and security according to client requests and business needs.## **Key Job Responsibilities:** AV Equipment Support - 75%* Sets up, installs, upgrades, configures, troubleshoots, adjusts, documents, and connects complex audio, visual, lighting, computer equipment, and peripherals in various environments for events, academic instruction, distance education, or meetings according to established requirements and requests.* Responsible for responding to assistance requests in the campus IT ticketing system.* Schedules logistics and secures resources for new installations of audiovisual equipment.* Tests, maintains, and provides recommendations for alternative hardware and software options to ensure proper functionality, security requirements, and business needs are met.* Provide consultation for audio visual equipment purchases.Support for Faculty and Staff - 15%* Assists with the development and scheduling of operational work plans for classrooms technology* Provides consultation and answers questions regarding Audio Visual and Classroom Technology equipment and functionality to individuals and groups based on set material and standards.General Responsibilities - 10%* Other duties as assigned.## **Department:**IT User Services## **Compensation:**Starting at $50,000 commensurate with experience## **Required Qualifications:*** Experience providing training on use of technology* Communication skills to create instructions for use of technology* Customer service skills* Knowledge in and experience with troubleshooting audio-visual equipment* Organizational and administrative skills## ## **Preferred Qualifications:*** Preferred Certifications: AV Systems Certifications (Q-SYS or Extron)* Professional experience in higher education* Experience with Q-SYS and/or Extron programming.* Practice with project management involving audiovisual components.* At least 2 years experience supporting technology-enabled classrooms or distance education programs## **Education:*** Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma* Preferred Degree: Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Education or related field.## **How to Apply:**Applicants must submit the following documents using the online application:* Resume* Cover Letter (optional)*\*Please use your application materials to speak to each of the qualifications for this position as listed above.
