Job summary

Livewire, Central Virginia’s leader in smart home automation, lighting control, security, and audio-visual integration, seeks an Audio-Visual Installation & Service Technician in Richmond. You’ll install, service, and troubleshoot AV, control, lighting, and security systems in high-end homes and businesses while working with clients directly.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated and task-driven, with a commitment to best practices.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Capable of lifting and carrying 50+ lbs.
• Clean driving record (company vehicle provided).
• 2 or more year of field experience in AV or related field.
• Preferred or Required Certifications: CEDIA EST II or higher (or obtain within 6 months).
• Alarm.com Academy (or obtain within 6 months).
• Livewire University (within 1 year of hire).

Responsibilities

• Install and set up one-room and multi-room audio/video systems.
• Configure and service satellite, cable, and streaming devices.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on AV and networked systems.
• Install and configure basic data/network infrastructure.
• Program and test control systems (URC, Control4, or similar).
• Assist with security and surveillance system setup and configuration.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and complete daily paperwork.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools in excellent condition.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate professionally with clients.
