Job summary

Guitar Center is seeking a Field Engineer to serve as the Tech Ops liaison, ensuring project excellence from installation to commissioning. You will document, configure, and program AV and network equipment, interfacing with Project management, Clients, Sales, and CAD teams to resolve challenges.

With 2+ years in AV systems design, you will review drawings, coordinate with vendors, and lead field technicians. Occasional travel is required to support projects across locations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in AV systems design.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical expert in quality control for each project.
• Interface with Project management, Clients, Sales, CAD, and Tech Ops.
• Ensure well-executed system installation with detailed documentation.
• Review AutoCAD drawings and IP/network/commissioning docs.
• Identify and confirm cabling and hardware installation.
• Direct technical teams on installation challenges.
• Support tech ops during integration, install, commissioning.
• Meet with vendors to evaluate products.
• Commission AV, lighting, shades, and security systems.
• Other duties as needed.
