Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an AV Service Technician for a top enterprise client in New York. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain Crestron/AMX systems across executive environments, with a pathway from installation to service specialization.

This is a contract on-site role in New York City. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of AV field service experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and comfort working directly with enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of AV field service experience (5+ years of installation experience considered).
• Strong troubleshooting mindset and ability to isolate and resolve issues.
• Hands-on experience with Crestron and/or AMX systems.
• Comfortable working in executive and customer-facing environments.
• Own basic hand tools and understand proper field practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot system, signal, and connectivity issues using a multimeter and diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance on client systems.
• Conduct site surveys to support service agreements and quotes.
• Write clear, concise service reports and system documentation.
• Manage multiple service calls and priorities independently.
• Interface professionally with enterprise-level customers.
• Lead and mentor junior/intermediate field technicians when needed.

AV Service Technician – Crestron / AMX

Our top enterprise customer is looking for an experienced AV Service Technician to support and maintain cutting‑edge audiovisual systems for their existing client base. This is an ideal opportunity for a 5+ year AV installer who wants to transition into service work — or a service

technician ready to work on high‑end, complex systems in executive environments.

If you enjoy troubleshooting, working directly with customers, and being the go‑to technical expert in the field, this role was built for you.

What You’ll Be Working On

You’ll be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across a wide range of enterprise AV systems, including:

• Custom Control Systems: Crestron DM & NVX, AMX
• Complex AV Systems in executive boardrooms and conference centers
• Video Conferencing Systems
• AV over IP (AVoIP) across LAN, WAN, and internet environments
• Audio DSP Systems: amplifiers, speakers, microphones
• Projection Systems & Displays
• Video Walls & Digital Signage
• RF Systems (basic exposure – analog & digital)

Key Responsibilities

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
