Job summary

MDM Entertainment in Schaumburg, Illinois, is seeking an Audio Visual Event Technician. You will assist with setup, operation and striking of equipment for corporate, social and special events, including delivery to the venue.

The ideal candidate has prior AV industry experience and is dependable, creative and customer-focused. This part-time role requires weekend and evening availability and the ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the special event AV industry required.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work weekends/evenings.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insured driving work vans/box trucks.
• Comfortable presenting and communicating with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong customer service to all clients and staff, including in-person events or via phone or email.
• Actively coordinate week-of event logistics with the Talent Coordinator and/or Production Manager.
• Ensure timely set up of equipment at all events including break down.
• Actively review lighting designs, sound, and video requirements to ensure all necessary equipment has been prepared.
• Install all equipment including audio systems, video systems, pipe and drape and decor as needed.
• Ensure equipment, ladders and trash are collected before the event.
• Return all equipment and props to the warehouse.
