Job summary

Spotlight onsite audio-visual service is seeking a Part-Time Audio-Visual Technician in La Crosse, WI to assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment at events. You will work under supervision to ensure equipment functions correctly and events run smoothly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proven experience in audio-visual operations or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of audio-visual equipment including speakers, microphones, projectors, and screens.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve them promptly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with organizers and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.

The Part-Time Audio-Visual Technician is responsible for assisting with the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio-visual equipment at events or on an as-needed basis. They work under the direction of a supervisor or senior technician to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly, and that events run smoothly and according to plan.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the setup and installation of audio-visual equipment, including speakers, microphones, projectors, and screens.
  • Operate audio-visual equipment during events, ensuring that sound, lighting, and video quality are at the required levels.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve them in a timely manner, minimizing any disruptions to the event.
  • Take down and pack away audio-visual equipment after events, ensuring that it is properly stored and maintained.
  • Assist with the maintenance and inventory of audio-visual equipment, performing routine checks and reporting any issues to the supervisor or senior technician.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring that all equipment is used safely and responsibly.
  • Communicate effectively with event organizers and other staff members, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all equipment is properly labeled and stored.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the audio-visual industry, and incorporate them into the work as appropriate.
