Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking a talented Audiovisual Designer/Consultant to join our Seattle area team. With 2–5 years of acoustical consulting experience, you will provide comprehensive audiovisual design services from feasibility through construction support.

This role emphasizes collaboration with architects, engineers, and contractors, using EASE for modeling and delivering clear technical reports and design recommendations. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to audiovisual design (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Architecture, etc.).
• 2–5 years of experience in acoustical consulting within the construction industry.
• Proficiency with Digital Signal Processing (preferred).
• Ability to perform audiovisual & control system programming.
• AVIXA CTS certification (preferred).
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Motivation to learn and adopt the latest technologies and practices.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to assist with design development and project reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform site visits to capture existing conditions.
• Perform modeling for sound system performance in building environments using EASE.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for design teams and clients.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate audiovisual solutions.
• Support permitting and compliance documentation throughout project phases.
