Job summary

Coffman Engineers is seeking an Audiovisual Designer/Consultant with 2–5 years of experience to join our Seattle Area team. You will provide comprehensive AV consulting from feasibility through design, permitting, and construction support, collaborating with a multidisciplinary group.

This role emphasizes energy and creativity, with opportunities to grow alongside architects, engineers, and contractors while delivering innovative AV solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to audiovisual design.
• 2–5 years of acoustical consulting experience in construction.
• Proficiency with Digital Signal Processing (preferred).
• Ability to perform audiovisual & control system programming.
• AVIXA CTS certification (preferred).
• Experience in multidisciplinary settings (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform site visits to capture existing conditions.
• Model sound system performance in buildings using EASE.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for design teams and clients.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate audiovisual solutions.
• Support permitting and compliance documentation throughout project phases.

Job Description

Coffman Engineers is seeking a talented and self‑motivated Audiovisual Designer/Consultant with two to five years of experience to join our Seattle Area team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive audiovisual consulting services—from initial feasibility studies through design, permitting, and construction support. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic about collaboration, eager to grow within a multidisciplinary environment, and ready to bring energy and creativity to every project.

This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to audiovisual design (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Architecture, etc.).

• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for design teams and clients.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate audiovisual solutions.
• Support permitting and compliance documentation throughout project phases.

Expected annual salary of $80,000 - $100,000.
