Position Details

• Shift: Day shifts with 4 and 8-hour shifts, rotating weekends (typically every 3rd weekend), up to 999 hours per year.
• Location: OCME - Eastern Division, Tulsa.
• Salary: USD 16.44 hourly.

Description of Duties

Recruits must meet physical and mental requirements. The role involves exposure to various types of death and physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving bodies weighing 250-400+ lbs. As a visible representative of OCME, adherence to policies and safety procedures is essential.

Typical Functions

• Intake and release of human bodies under OCME jurisdiction.
• Document and update case logs.
• Answer calls and manage communication.
• Stock and organize autopsy lab areas.
• Assist with inventory and deliveries.
• Perform radiologic procedures (CT, X-ray).
• Handle laundry and cleaning tasks.
• Maintain proper chain of custody.
• Take photographs and document personal effects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Training

Training lasts 2-4 weeks, depending on skill development, with a minimum of 2 weeks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, multitasking, and attention to detail skills.
• Must be a self-starter.

Special Requirements

Must possess and maintain physical and mental stamina, be at least 21 years old, have a valid ID, and pass background checks. Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver’s license may be required.
