An established educational institution seeks a dedicated Lab Assistant for its Fabrication Laboratory. This role involves supporting students and faculty while ensuring safe practices with a variety of equipment, including 3D printers, laser etchers, and CNC machines. Work in the Fabrication Laboratory at Northeast campus. Assist students, faculty, and the fab lab manager in various duties. The lab assistant will be responsible for ensuring safe practices are performed with utilizing equipment. Duties can range from assisting with the following machines; 3D printers, Laser etchers/engravers/cutters, Vinyl cutters, Soldering, Sublimations, Embroidery, Heat Press, Lathe, Mill, CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, Horizontal Band Saw, Vertical Band Saw, Belt Sander, Grinders, Mig Welding, Tig Welding, and more.
Experience with desktop computers including e-mail, word processing. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is desirable.
Ability to organize daily work procedures and perform duties under one's own initiative.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with others.
Knowledge on multiple of the above mentioned equipment/machines.
Working well alone and with others.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes
