Job summary

Persona AI, Inc. is seeking an Autonomy Software Engineering Intern to help build the world modeling layer of our autonomy stack in Houston. You will curate real‑world video data and fine‑tune models to ground robot understanding of environments.

This paid summer internship involves collaborating with the autonomy team, ML, perception, and simulation engineers. You will work on design and implementation of autonomy algorithms, data pipelines, and synthetic data generation, reporting to the

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience training, fine‑tuning, or evaluating modern deep learning models in PyTorch.
• Strong Python skills with data processing, training loops, and evaluation harnesses.
• Familiarity with at least one vision‑language model, LLM, or video understanding model.
• Experience building data pipelines: ingestion, filtering, labeling workflows, deduplication, train/val/test splits.
• Comfortable with Linux, Git, containers (Docker) and cloud GPU infrastructure.
• Self‑directed with steady progress on open‑ended research problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement autonomy and behavior coordination algorithms for an industrial humanoid platform.
• Collaborate with manipulation, locomotion, and perception engineers to integrate robot skills into autonomous behaviors.
• Implement data curation pipelines to enable robots to understand real‑world tasks.
• Develop synthetic data generation pipelines for post‑training of world models.
• Design pipelines for autonomous behavior evaluation, benchmarking, and regression testing.
• Turn raw industrial video into structured, high‑quality training data.
• Design and evaluate reasoning benchmarks grounding language queries in shipyard/fabrication scenes.
