Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Vehicle Platform Integrations team. You will develop infrastructure to integrate embedded software with a modern C++ autonomy stack and collaborate with planning, control, and vehicle platform teams.

The role emphasizes fault monitoring, on-road behavior influence, and tool-building for automated testing within Linux-based and embedded environments. Hybrid work policy applies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience in robotics frameworks.
• Proficient in C++ and C for embedded applications.
• Knowledge of software architecture design best practices.
• Familiarity with CAN, TCP and UDP networking.
• Experience with software analysis, linting, and testing tools.
• Experience in regulated, safety-critical, or quality-managed environments.
• Experience with autonomous vehicles or related robotics fields.
• Familiarity with control systems of automotive, aerospace, robotics, or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop infrastructure and integrate embedded software with a modern C++ autonomy stack.
• Interact with autonomy planning and control software, embedded layer software, and vehicle platform commands and monitoring.
• Develop fault monitoring of vehicle platforms.
• Develop software that will influence on-road behavior including mode of operation, fault management, and health monitoring.
• Work with software/hardware interfaces including embedded system simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and vehicle system level testing.
• Build tools to automate testing and analysis of the control subsystem for safety-critical coverage standards.
• Develop in Linux-based environments as well as embedded.
