Job summary

Quantum Systems GmbH is seeking a Head of Autonomy – Land Domain to define the technical direction and lead the autonomy stack from research to production. You will enable safe, reliable operation of autonomous ground systems—from UGVs to trucks—across GNSS-denied and challenging terrains with cross-domain collaboration.

You will translate state-of-the-art AI and robotics into robust capabilities, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions to ensure field-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven track record shipping production-grade autonomous systems.
• Strong understanding of autonomy architectures and end-to-end ML approaches.
• Experience optimizing ML systems for real-world constraints (latency, reliability, safety).
• Proficient in modern C++ (and/or Rust) and Python; experience with production codebases.

Responsibilities

• Lead creation of next-gen autonomous systems, translating AI/robotics advances into production capabilities.
• Shape multidisciplinary teams across perception, control, estimation, and simulation; own domain deliverables.
• Secure hardware, sensors, compute platforms, and testing infrastructure to prevent bottlenecks.
• Ensure ML models run safely and deterministically under real-time constraints.
• Provide architectural direction and mentorship across teams.
