Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Integration Engineer to lead system-level integration across software, hardware, robotics, and autonomy workflows for safety and site technology programs.

You will define requirements, manage interfaces, and drive validation, testing, and release readiness with cross-functional teams. This role emphasizes architecture alignment and technical leadership in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Experience developing, decomposing, and managing system requirements across multi-team environments.
• Ability to connect software, hardware, sensors, and workflows into scalable solutions.
• Knowledge of software product design and architecture; facilitate design reviews and trade-offs.
• Familiarity with software development life cycle practices and release management.
• Experience designing or integrating autonomy middleware, machine control hardware, sensors, and safety tech.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements, interfaces, and integration scope across complex safety and site technology programs.
• Lead system integration, validation, verification, test witnessing, and release readiness across software and hardware.
• Design and align architectures for interfacing autonomy middleware, hardware, sensors, and safety systems.
• Collaborate across software, hardware, site, safety, and partner teams to ensure alignment of architecture and verification.
• Document architecture decisions, interface expectations, I/O requirements, validation strategy, and success criteria.
