Job summary
Liebherr Mining Equipment Newport News Co. is seeking an Autonomy Systems Engineer to design and validate mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic hardware with control logic for large mining haul trucks.
The role encompasses level 1 through level 4 responsibilities, including model-based design, testing, and cross-disciplinary coordination. Required are advanced engineering degrees (MS/BS) with significant electrical experience, the ability to develop schematics, and strong Matlab/Simulink and CAD
Qualifications
- MS or BS in an engineering discipline with relevant electrical experience.
- MS + 1 year electrical experience orBS with 2 years required for Level 2.
- MS with 6–8 years or BS with 8–10 years for Level 4 Senior.
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electro mechanical systems for haul trucks.
- Create schematics and interfaces with other disciplines.
- Write software or model based code for control systems.
- Develop test requests for component and system validation.
- Mentor junior engineers and review designs for autonomy compliance.
