Caterpillar Inc. in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Systems Engineer to bridge Autonomy Hauling applications and base machine systems, integrating autonomy hardware and software in our heavy equipment platforms.

You will collaborate with integration engineers, program managers, and architects to ensure requirements are met, software changes are delivered on schedule, and field kits are supported. You will help design and validate robotic software and algorithms for autonomous platforms.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of approaches and tools to recognize, anticipate, and resolve problems.
• Structured methodology for delivering software products.
• Understanding industry trends and regulatory considerations.
• Experience designing and executing software testing strategies.
• Knowledge of tools and toolkits for development applications.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues in complex systems.
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science required.

Responsabilités

• Interface between Autonomy Hauling application teams and base machine systems.
• Ensure architecture requirements are fulfilled with integration engineers and architects.
• Coordinate timely delivery of base machine software changes for hauling releases.
• Support field data collection kits: design support, procurement, shipping, testing.
• Document architecture specs, software design, verification plans, and procedures.
• Assist verification/validation, troubleshoot hardware-in-the-loop tests, prove-out work.
• Contribute to design and development of application software and algorithms for robotic platforms.
