Job summary

Tata Technologies in Irving, TX is seeking a qualified engineer to join our Autonomy Systems integration effort, focusing on architecture verification and test execution for robotic platforms.

The role collaborates with program managers and architects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, develops test plans, scenarios, and procedures, and supports hardware-in-the-loop validation and iterative testing within an Agile framework.

Qualifications

  • Has 5-7 years of experience in engineering testing and validation.
  • Inputs to design team to ensure testing is integrated into system design.
  • Creates test scenarios that verify error handling across products.
  • Defines, creates, and executes test plans and cases with estimates.
  • Explains approaches and tools for functional, reliability, and vulnerability testing.
  • Discusses iterative testing using agile methodologies.
  • Application Development Tools: knowledge of tools and toolkits for developing applications.

Responsibilities

  • Create test scenarios ensuring error handling works as expected.
  • Define and run test plans and cases with effort estimates.
  • Support the design team to incorporate testing considerations into system design.
  • Advise on iterative testing approaches within Agile workflows.
  • Provide implementation support on toolkit enhancements or changes.

Job description

  • Work closely with Autonomy Systems integration engineers to ensure the product architecture requirements are fulfilled.
  • Work with Technical program managers and Application Architects to ensure that program requirements are being met (time, cost, quality).
  • Ensure that Base machine software changes are delivered on time for command for hauling releases. These can be NPI and CPI solutions depending on the state of the program.
  • Support Field data collection kits activities. Including design support procurement, shipping to site. Data collection?
  • Documenting architecture specifications, software design description, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures.
  • Assisting in the verification and validation process.
  • Includes supporting/troubleshooting hardware in the loop and proving ground test and development.
  • Participating in design and development of application software and algorithms for robotic platforms.
Education & Experience Required
  • Years of experience:5-7
  • Degree requirement: Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering,
  • Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
Level Extensive Experience:
  • Has experience with planning and executing full spectrum of tests for multiple products.
  • Provides input to design team to ensure testing considerations are incorporated into system design.
  • Creates test scenarios that ensure all error handling processes perform as expected.
  • Defines, creates, and executes test plans and cases; estimates time, effort and resource required.
  • Explains approaches and tools for functional, reliability, and vulnerability testing.
  • Discusses applications of iterative testing using agile methodologies.
  • Application Development Tools: Knowledge of application and system development; ability to utilize a variety of specific tools and toolkits for developing applications.
Level Extensive Experience:
  • Evaluates toolkits used to support major production systems.
  • Resolves issues regarding functions, features and components of multiple toolkits. Provides implementation support on toolkit enhancements or changes. Interprets benefits and drawbacks of procedural and event-driven toolkits
  • Oversees the evaluation and recommendation of delivery tools and platforms.
  • Coaches’ others on appropriate uses of all major tools in a toolkit for a specific platform
