Job summary

PlusAI is seeking a skilled engineer to advance its autonomous truck platform in a fast-growing team. You will work closely with autonomy and runtime groups to enhance a redundant on-vehicle software stack, implement fault handling, and integrate middleware for high-performance operations on edge hardware.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience, a strong CS foundation, and proficiency in C++, Python, and Linux, with exposure to CUDA/OpenCL/Edge AI tooling.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong C++ and Python programming skills.
• Basic understanding of computer vision and deep learning models.
• Hands-on experience with high performance IPC / middleware.
• Strong analytical skills for performance troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with CUDA, OpenCL, OpenVX or Halide.
• Ability to learn new tech quickly and handle large codebases.
• Good communication skills and Linux system familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Work with autonomy and runtime teams to improve on-vehicle software stack.
• Develop perspectives on opportunities in redundant software and hardware.
• Integrate and optimize performance of software components in the stack.
• Design fault detection and handling strategies for the platform.
• Develop validation strategies including on-vehicle testing and simulations.
• Evaluate, integrate and optimize partner middleware into the AD stack.
• Own driverless operation features like mission control and tele assist.
• Ensure work aligns with QMS and drive continuous quality improvements.
• Maintain compliance with QMS and monitor overall quality.
