Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Autonomy Engineering Specialist to define robotic needs and provide technical leadership in software development, testing and validation for collision mitigation systems within our Automation and Autonomy products.
You will work with a global team to design, implement and test software for robotic devices, with emphasis on C++ and systems integration. This position is based in Irving, TX and involves travel.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in design, development and architecture of complex software solutions in C++.
- Leadership experience in facilitating design reviews and decision making.
- Experience with design reviews, software programming and quality focus in product development.
- Development experience on Radars or Camera systems.
- Experience with Robotics/Autonomous Vehicles preferred.
- Experience with Caterpillar products.
- Functional Safety / SOTIF experience.
Responsibilities
- Participate in test review, witnessing and certification of robotics software.
- Apply new technologies to enhance robotics software capabilities.
- Consult on integration issues of robotic software with existing infrastructure components and products.
- Lead design, implementation, testing and release of software for robotic devices.
