Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Product Management Intern to join the Vehicle Autonomy team in Sunnyvale, CA, for a summer internship. You will support product managers and cross‑functional partners across current and future autonomy initiatives, helping identify, evaluate, and iterate on high‑impact concepts.

You will learn how to translate customer and business needs into requirements, roadmaps, and documentation while collaborating with engineering, design, data science, and program management

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or MBA program with focus in engineering, CS, data science, human‑computer interaction, or a related field.
• Interest in product management, vehicle autonomy, advanced driver assistance systems, automotive technology, robotics, or emerging mobility experiences.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information and present proposals to stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates from different technical and professional backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Support product managers with research, analysis, documentation, and day‑to‑day product activities.
• Help gather and synthesize customer, market, competitive, technical, and business insights.
• Contribute to product requirements, user stories, use cases, process flows, and other product documentation.
• Assist with roadmap planning and preparation of materials for team and stakeholder discussions.
• Analyze information and data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement.
• Participate in cross‑functional meetings and help track decisions, actions, dependencies, and open questions.
• Work with engineering, design, data science, program management, and other teams to understand product capabilities and constraints.
• Prepare presentations, status updates, and recommendations for a variety of audiences.
