Job summary

Fruition Group US is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer to help build the core autonomous maritime platform. This role focuses on production C++ software, distributed systems, networking, and interfaces that operate on physical vessels and edge devices.

You will collaborate across software, autonomy, networking, and hardware to move systems from development to field operation, with ownership over architecture and robust behavior under degraded conditions.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, networking, and software architecture.
• Familiarity with robotics, autonomy, or cyber-physical systems.
• Experience developing or debugging software on physical hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop production-grade C++ running on autonomous maritime platforms.
• Build distributed services designed for constrained edge environments.
• Contribute to core platform architecture deployed across multiple autonomous fleets.
• Design deterministic control authority and command arbitration between human operators, onboard autonomy, and external systems.
• Build robust behaviour under degraded communications, conflicting inputs, and system faults.
• Debug real-world issues across compute, networking, hardware, and autonomy software.
• Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve software operating in production.
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools for prototyping, testing, debugging, and deployment.
