Job summary

Applied Intuition Inc. is seeking engineers to design and implement motion planning and controls modules for autonomous vehicle stacks, deployable across diverse vehicle platforms.

You will work closely with users and customers to collect feedback, taking ownership of technical and product decisions in a fast-evolving autonomy space. Responsibilities include characterizing vehicle dynamics, bridging simulation to real-world performance, and applying optimal-control techniques such as nonlinear

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience building production software using modern software practices.
  • Hands-on experience testing controls solutions on real, production-grade vehicles.
  • Fluency in control theory, numerical optimization, numerical analysis, and physics.
  • Enthusiasm for practical solutions to cutting-edge challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience writing high-performance C++ code.
  • MSc or PhD in mechanical engineering or computer science with coursework or research in motion planning or controls.
  • Experience with safety-critical C++ code guidelines (e.g., MISRA, AUTOSAR).
  • Experience using quadratic programming solvers or nonlinear optimization tools.
  • Experience applying machine learning techniques to vehicle dynamics modeling.
  • Experience working with large industrial/commercial vehicles and passenger cars.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement motion planning and controls modules for various vehicle platforms.
  • Characterize dynamics of customer vehicles to tailor controls solutions and bridge simulation/real-world gaps.
  • Evaluate and utilize academic research to create optimal-control-based solutions (nonlinear MPC, MPPI).
