Job summary

Saronic Technologies Inc. is seeking an Autonomy Integration Build Engineer to lead hands-on installation, bring‑up, and integration of control hardware, sensors, and mast systems for autonomous surface vessels.

You will coordinate with Austin design teams and manage ECOs, verification, and documentation in a shipyard setting. The role demands expertise in electrical engineering, control systems, robotics, and sensor integration within maritime/defense contexts, with strong CAD and systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant engineering field; maritime/defense context preferred.
• Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering, control systems, robotics, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems.
• Experience with autonomous systems, robotics, or control system integration in marine, aerospace, or defense environments.
• Familiarity with maritime industry standards including ABS electrical and control system requirements, and US Coast Guard regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, analysis, and integration of autonomous systems including control computers, sensor suites, mast systems, actuator valves, digital controls, and robotics subsystems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to perform CAD modeling, analysis, and system optimization.
• Operate as liaison between engineering, drafting, and production teams to resolve technical challenges during construction.
• Identify and resolve non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and drive resolution via IRBs and rework plans.
• Lead and coordinate Engineering Change Orders—ensure traceability, communication, implementation, and verification.
• Support the integration of autonomous navigation and control systems into vessel designs.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on system architecture and performance.
• Support documentation including technical drawings, specifications, test procedures, and as-built records.
