Job summary

Saronic Technologies Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Build Engineer to support design, integration, and commissioning of main propulsion systems for autonomous surface vessels.

You will oversee hands-on engine installation, shaft alignment, propulsion integration, fuel systems, gensets, and cooling components at the shipyard, coordinating with design teams remotely from Austin. You will lead ECOs, resolve non-conformances, and contribute to system optimization while ensuring regulatory compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or related field.
• Familiarity with ABS rules, ABYC fuel systems, engine specs, US Coast Guard regs.
• Strong fundamentals in propulsion, shaft alignment, fuel & cooling systems, gensets, and marine machinery.
• Experience in shipyards or aboard ships with marine propulsion and associated systems.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino, NX.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, integrating, and commissioning main propulsion systems and machinery.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to model, analyze, and optimize the propulsion setup.
• Coordinate with drafting and production to resolve issues during construction.
• Lead ECOs, ensure traceability and implementation of changes.
• Support integration of autonomous navigation and control systems.
• Oversee installation, alignment, and testing of engines, shafting, and gensets.
