Blue Origin is seeking a senior engineer to design, verify, and deploy ground control software for the New Glenn program. You will apply model-based design and verification to robust, autonomous control systems and collaborate with launch engineering and operations to validate real-world applicability.

The role emphasizes configuration management, field troubleshooting, and readiness for mission deployment, with opportunities to integrate AI/LLMs to enhance autonomous applications.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering from an accredited program.
• 5–8 years of experience in the applicable industry and/or a controls-related role in a non-academic, professional setting.
• Experience with model-based software design and validation.
• Experience in tuning and processing P&ID loops and familiarity in reading schematic drawings.
• Experience working in a configuration managed development environment.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, verify, and commission software solutions for ground control systems supporting New Glenn.
• Design Ground Control applications using Model Based development and verification techniques.
• Implement the overall strategy for autonomous ground control systems and enable increased launch cadence.
• Take ownership of configuration management, verification, commissioning and in-field troubleshooting.
• Interact with launch engineering and operations teams to validate that controls software meets real-world needs.
• Ensure products are deployment-ready for a New Glenn Mission and operations.
