AIM seeks Field Optimization Engineers to help autonomous machines operate reliably on real jobsites. You will analyze task performance, identify failure modes, and translate field observations into improvements for AI, planning, and control systems.

You will work with operators and engineers to validate updates through real-world testing, contributing to a robust feedback loop that makes autonomy more capable across diverse tasks and environments.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in field engineering, systems engineering, robotics deployment, or related fields.
• Hands-on debugging of complex hardware/software under real-world constraints.
• Strong scripting ability (Python, Bash, JavaScript) and production-quality scripts.
• Solid understanding of sensors, Linux, embedded hardware, and compute modules.
• Experience designing and executing test plans with quality reporting.
• Excellent communication to translate field issues into engineering requirements.
• Willingness to travel internationally and domestically, often on short notice.

Responsabilidades

• Tune autonomy behaviors for specific tasks and environments.
• Analyze performance metrics, failure modes, and edge cases.
• Validate concepts of operations and degraded-mode behavior against real sites.
• Identify patterns in autonomy behavior and feed inputs to AI teams.
• Design and execute on-site test plans and verify updates under stress.
• Maintain bug reports, triage, and feedback loops into engineering.
