Job summary

True Anomaly seeks an Engineering Manager, Autonomy, to build and lead a team of autonomy engineers developing multi-agent resource allocation systems and edge‑deployed AI for spacecraft operations. You will grow the team, manage performance, and align with the autonomy roadmap across scheduling, replanning, and distributed coordination.

Your focus is people leadership with strategic technical direction, architecture reviews, and maintaining credibility while delivering rugged autonomy systems

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in a technical field with relevant experience.
  • 8+ years in autonomous systems, robotics, AI/ML or aerospace domains.
  • At least 4 years in people management leading teams of 4+ engineers.
  • Ability to translate strategy into team execution and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction on multi-agent coordination, edge deployment, and validation for constrained problems.
  • Review designs for combinatorial optimization, stochastic planning, and distributed coordination.
  • Lead the team through design, implementation, and verification with ~35% time on technical work.
  • Define autonomy standards, explainability, and validation for high-stakes deployments.
  • Drive compute allocation, edge optimization, and real-time performance trade‑offs.
  • Maintain credibility in operations research, RL, and edge AI deployment.
  • Define team roadmap with autonomy leadership and balance near-term demos with long-term capability.
