Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in Irving, Texas, seeks an Autonomy Engineer to advance autonomous mining truck capabilities from concept to production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, document designs, and drive effective prioritization. A strong math/engineering foundation and robotics experience are preferred; relocation is available, visa sponsorship is not.
The role is full-time, onsite, with competitive salary and benefits, and requires working at the Dallas–area office five days a week.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or CS; strong foundation in math and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience in autonomy, robotics, or related industries preferred.
- Ability to translate customer needs into design and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement autonomous machine capabilities from requirements to production.
- Coordinate delivery of improvements through development, validation, field trials, and into production.
- Estimate time and cost to enable prioritization and project management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system level issues found in development, validation, or production.
