Job summary

General Motors seeks a Manager of Autonomy Behavior Systems Engineering in Sunnyvale, CA. Hybrid work requires reporting to Sunnyvale three days per week. Lead a team shaping how autonomous vehicle behavior is specified, evaluated, and evidenced for release decisions.

You’ll drive system architecture, validation strategies, and scalable simulation across synthetic tests and real data, partnering with Safety, Legal, and Product to deliver trusted evidence.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in systems engineering, mechanical, aerospace, electrical, CS, robotics, or related field.
• 8+ years in systems engineering, autonomy, robotics, or safety-critical validation.
• Proven record evaluating autonomous vehicles for commercial fleets or launches.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of autonomy behavior systems engineers.
• Set systems engineering and validation direction for major capabilities.
• Guide scalable evaluation and simulation across tests and data sources.
• Partner with Engineering, Safety, Legal, Product, and Operations to align decisions.
